Hello, my name is yuno, I am 19 years old, and this is my second year at ArtWalk Cómpeta. I enjoy drawing and painting in the anime and manga style, and sometimes I also use my imagination or recreate paintings by artists I like. I draw and paint on glass, canvas, and paper. I don’t draw things I don’t like because it bores me and I lose motivation.
Hola, me llamo yuno, tengo 19 años y este es mi segundo año en el ArtWalk Cómpeta. Me gusta dibujar y pintar en el estilo anime y manga, y a veces también uso mi imaginación o recreo cuadros de artistas que me gustan. Dibujo y pinto en cristal, lienzo y papel. No dibujo cosas que no me gustan porque me aburro y pierdo la motivación.

Andrea Pérez (Cómpeta, 1999) is a visual artist and photographer. Her work combines melancholy, a love of animals and an intimate view of everyday life. She works with paint—oil, acrylic, pen—and with artistic and documentary photography. She often focuses on portraiture, both human and animal, as a means of exploring emotions, memories, and silences. Her style is subtly autobiographical, imbued with sensitivity. Rather than explaining, she seeks to connect each person with her images through what they feel and experience.
Andrea Pérez (Cómpeta, 1999) es artista visual y fotógrafa. En su obra conviven la melancolía, el amor por los animales y una mirada íntima hacia lo cotidiano. Trabaja con pintura —óleo, acrílico, bolígrafo— y con fotografía artística y documental. Suele centrarse en el retrato, tanto humano como animal, como medio para explorar emociones, recuerdos y silencios. Su estilo es sutilmente autobiográfico, cargado de sensibilidad. Más que explicar, busca que cada persona conecte con sus imágenes desde lo que siente y lo que vive.

Engineer, teacher and artist with the soul of an inexhaustible traveler since childhood. Pursues his exploration in the mastery of new techniques such as watercolour, acrylics and dyes, and, of course, using all kinds of working surfaces, i. e.: burlap, old wood, old paper or stone. Different textures and primers are the focus of his works. His mind never rests thinking about new creative projects and so on when he returns from one of his trips around the world.
Ingeniero, profesor y artista con alma de viajero infatigable desde su infancia. Continua su indagación en el dominio de nuevas técnicas como acuarela, acrílicos y tintes, y por descontado usando todo tipo de superficies de trabajo, por ejemplo: arpilleras, maderas antiguas, papel antiguo o piedra. Las diferentes texturas e imprimaciones son el objetivo de sus obras. Su mente nunca descansa pensando en nuevos proyectos creativos y más a la vuelta de uno de sus viajes por todo el planeta.

I am an English artist living and working in Andalucia. I have exhibited in the UK primarily in London and Wales and recently in Cómpeta, Frigiliana, Torrox Pueblo and Costa. My recent images are “snapshots” from unfolding stories and resemble cinema film stills. Images are built up from hand rendered layers that are digitally overlaid and juxtaposed. In each image the “master” layer is a location, a place, that evokes a situation or encounter that may be remembered, hoped for, regretted or dreamed.
Soy un artista inglés que vive y trabaja en Andalucía. He expuesto en el Reino Unido, principalmente en Londres y Gales, y recientemente en Cómpeta, Frigiliana, Torrox Pueblo y Torrox Costa. Mis imágenes recientes son “instantáneas” de historias que van desarrollándose, y se asemejan a fotogramas de películas de cine. Las imágenes se construyen a partir de capas renderizadas a mano que se superponen y yuxtaponen digitalmente. En cada imagen, la capa “principal” muestra un sitio, un lugar específico que evoca una situación o un encuentro que puedan ser recordados, deseados, lamentados o soñados.

Silke Lotta González León (Lotta Leon) was born in Germany. Having spent part of her life in Latin America (Cuba and Chile), she now lives in Andalusia, precisely in Riogordo. She has worked as a teacher of literature, theatre and philosophy. She has always devoted all her free time to various forms of art. Lately she is experimenting with a new technique based on her own photography and digital art. She has presented several exhibitions in Germany, Switzerland, France and Spain. Each plant, each animal, each being possesses its own soul and feelings. These feelings, as well as the different worlds of nature, are manifested in her abstract and semi-abstract works. For the artist it is very interesting to transcend photorealism. With digitalization, new creative forms have been developed that make it possible to change photographic expression.
Silke Lotta González León (Lotta Leon) nació en Alemania. Habiendo pasado una parte de su vida en América Latina (Cuba y Chile), ahora vive en Andalucía, precisamente en Riogordo. Ha trabajado como profesora de literatura, teatro y filosofía. Desde siempre, todo su tiempo libre dedica a varias formas de arte. Últimamente va experimentando con una nueva técnica a base de su propia fotografía y arte digital. Ha presentado varias exposiciones en Alemania, Suiza, Francia y España. Cada planta, cada animal, cada ser tiene su alma y sus sentimientos. Esas sensaciones, así como los mundos diferentes de la naturaleza, se manifiestan en sus obras abstractas y semi abstractas. Para la artista es muy interesante trascender el fotorrealismo. Con la digitalización se han desarrollado nuevas formas creativas que permiten cambiar la expresión fotográfica.

Born in Cologne (Germany). I worked nine years as a stage designer before moving to Southern Spain in 1994. Since then I live as an independent artist. Most of my Mixed-Media paintings starts in an experimental, almost abstract way, open minded to the flowing process, following my intuition and inner images of what I have seen, heard and felt.
Nací en Colonia (Alemania). Trabajé nueve años como escenógrafa antes de mudarme al sur de España en 1994. Desde entonces, vivo como artista independiente. La mayoría de mis pinturas en técnica mixta nacen de una forma experimental, casi abstracta, con la mente abierta al proceso fluido, siguiendo mi intuición y las imágenes internas de lo que he visto, oído y sentido.

I am a visual artist graduated from ISA (University of Arts) and San Alejandro Academy in Cuba. My specialty is engraving, drawing, 2D animation, painting, and more recently I have incorporated tattooing. I define myself as a creator who is constantly researching and seeking to professionalize my work. I like to combine creation and teaching. I have been an art teacher for more than 20 years. I have also managed projects in parallel, and directed institutions such as the Taller Experimental de Gráfica de La Habana (Experimental Graphics Workshop of Havana) and the deanship of ISA.
Soy artista visual graduado del ISA (Universidad de Artes) y de la Academia San Alejandro, en Cuba. Mi especialidad es el grabado, el dibujo, la animación 2D, la pintura y más recientemente he incorporado el tattoo. Me defino como un creador que constantemente está investigando y buscando profesionalizar mi trabajo. Me gusta combinar la creación y la docencia. He sido profesor de arte durante más de 20 años. También he llevado la gestión de proyectos de forma paralela, y la dirección de instituciones como el Taller Experimental de Gráfica de La Habana y el decanato del ISA.

Hello! My name is Amy. I live in the Uk and have a holiday home in Cómpeta. I took up watercolour painting several years ago and am self-taught. I particularly like to paint buildings and the odd landscape. I prefer the looser approach, not too much details, but I like to bring my paintings alive with an ink pen. I adore the colours and buildings in Cómpeta, in particular the Plaza Almijara and the Church. In the UK I live in the Cotswolds so am spoilt for choice of beautiful places to paint.
Empecé a pintar con acuarelas hace varios años y soy autodidacta. Me gusta sobre todo pintar edificios y paisajes interesantes. Prefiero una expresión más libre, sin muchos detalles, pero me gusta dar vida a mis pinturas con un bolígrafo de tinta. Jo Dennison, UK. Living and working in Cómpeta. She is trained in the creative arts. For many years a painter, now uses textiles. She works in a collage-style way with the colourful textiles, using embroidery, sewing machine and hand stitching. Her art is environmental, political, humorous and mythical. Jo Dennison had a retrospective exhibition in Salón de Actos in Cómpeta 8 years ago at the request of the mayor. She loves to explain about her work and exchange about art and culture with the visitors.

My paintings are an expression of what I call “spontaneous realism”. As a self-taught artist, I am passionate about creating large canvases filled with vibrant colors. The common thread in my work is portraits of inspiring people who resonate with me. Although I primarily paint in my studio in the Netherlands, I increasingly bring my creativity to life here in beautiful Cómpeta.
Mis pinturas son una expresión de lo que llamo “realismo espontáneo”. Como artista autodidacta, me apasiona crear grandes lienzos llenos de colores vibrantes. El hilo conductor de mi trabajo son los retratos de personas inspiradoras que resuenan conmigo. Aunque principalmente pinto en mi estudio en los Países Bajos, sigo dando más y más vida a mi creatividad aquí en la hermosa Competa.

I was born in Warsaw and currently live in Cómpeta. Since 2010 I have been a member of Polish artistic group “Złota Linia” (“Golden Line”) that gathers artists living all over Poland and abroad. My poems have been included in various magazines and anthologies, both Polish and Spanish. I love to compose music to my verses and sing them during my poetry recitals and other artistic events. Thus I would like to invite you to my world of words. Perhaps one or more of these pages will take you on an exciting or sentimental journey into the inner world of your own?

I am Sofija, I am from Lithuania and live in Sedella. I love knitwear made from pure linen, high quality Italian mohair, wool and cashmere. For thousands of years, linen was only used to make fabric. Today, it is great for all kinds of glamorous garments. Pure linen is known for keeping people cool in very hot temperatures. In spring it provides a barrier between your skin and a cool evening breeze without you feeling too hot when the wind creases. A garment made from linen looks great and is highly durable. It’s soft and can be draped around your body according to your taste. It is easy to take care of it. It can be machine washed. You can either choose from my store or order your own custom-made garment by choosing your favourite thread colours and patterns. I’d be delighted to make your dreams come true.

My name is Paul Williams and I have lived in Spain for ten years but I am originally from the UK. I used to draw when I was younger but only started painting as a hobby in 2020, when the COVID pandemic broke out. I began with landscapes, progressing to abstract. My art is created with acrylic paint on canvas using different techniques which include brushes, pallet knives and other implements to create different effects. I also use paint in a liquid form and sand or other materials to add texture.
Me llamo Paul Williams y vivo en España desde hace diez años, pero soy originario del Reino Unido. Solía dibujar cuando era más joven pero no empecé a pintar como hobby hasta 2020, cuando se desató la pandemia de COVID. Empecé con paisajes, desarrollando mi estilo hacia lo abstracto. Mi arte se crea con pintura acrílica sobre lienzo utilizando diferentes técnicas que incluyen pinceles, cuchillos de paleta y otros implementos para crear diferentes efectos. I am a self-taught artist, I work with watercolours and inks and I try to represent an imaginary world where feminity and nature are predominant. My interest in art has always been an essential part of my life and although I have been drawing since I was very young, in the last two years I have dedicated myself to it full time, working from my studio in Torrox Park. I use mixed media combining watercolours, inks, and experimenting with new materials. In my creations I try to capture a world full of stories that almost always express my moods, and drawing is for me almost like a therapy.
Soy una artista autodidacta. Trabajo con acuarelas y tintas e intento representar un mundo imaginario donde predomina lo femenino y la naturaleza. Mis inquietudes por el arte han sido siempre una parte esencial de mi vida y aunque dibujo desde muy joven, en los dos últimos años me he dedicado a ello a tiempo completo desde mi taller en Torrox Park. Utilizo técnicas mixtas donde mezclo acuarelas, tintas y experimento con nuevos materiales. En mis creaciones intento plasmar un mundo lleno de tramas que expresan casi siempre mis estados de ánimo, y dibujar es para mí casi como una terapia.

I’m a boy that has been in love with art for four years and I am currently studying art formally. I am a first-year fine arts student, and have already published a comic book that has sold more than three editions. I also paint portraits, draw and sculpt. In addition, I am the artistic director of iGem UMA, a university project known for participating in the world’s largest synthetic biology competition.
Soy un chico enamorado del arte desde hace 4 años y estudiando artes de forma oficial. Estudiante de primero de Bellas Artes actualmente, he publicado un cómic que ha vendido más de 3 ediciones y me dedico al retrato en pintura, al dibujo y a la escultura. Además soy director artístico en iGem UMA, un proyecto universitario conocido en la competición más grande de biología sintética del mundo.

Hi my name is Martine Linden. For the past 12 years I have been fortunate to call Cómpeta my permanent home. I’m originally from Switzerland but have lived in many different countries. I started doing ceramics 8 years ago as a pastime together with some friends and found that I enjoyed it immensely. Since 2 years I’m retired and have now more time to spend being creative. Most of my works are hand built and not thrown on the wheel. I enjoy the slower pace and sometimes the item’s shape will change totally during the process. I’m inspired by quiet moments, imperfect beauty, and the way handmade things can add warmth to daily life.
Hola, me llamo Martine Linden. Durante los últimos 12 años he tenido la suerte de poder llamar a Cómpeta mi hogar permanente. Soy oriunda de Suiza, pero he vivido en muchos países diferentes. Empecé a trabajar con cerámica hace 8 años como pasatiempo junto con algunos amigos y descubrí que me gustaba mucho. Desde hace 2 años estoy jubilada y ahora tengo más tiempo para dedicarme a la creatividad. La mayoría de mis obras están creadas a mano sin usar el torno. Disfruto del ritmo más lento y, a veces, la forma del objeto cambia totalmente durante el proceso. Me inspiran los momentos de tranquilidad, la belleza imperfecta y lo cómo las cosas hechas a mano pueden añadir calidez a la vida cotidiana.

For me, creating has always been a form of active contemplation. Whatever the outcome of my work, whether the viewer likes it or not, what matters most to me is connecting with myself, giving shape and breath to my ‘feeling’. From my personal meditations sometimes emerge poems, other times graphic or pictorial works, and even design or artistic crafts; occasionally they take the form of cries turned into songs. The imperative (for me) is not to succumb to the process of dehumanization, and consequently, to the globalization of minds, perpetuated surreptitiously by those in power.
Para mí, crear siempre ha sido una forma de contemplación activa. Sea cual sea el resultado de mi trabajo, le guste o no al espectador, lo que más me importa es conectar conmigo misma, dar forma y aliento a mi “sentimiento”. De mis meditaciones personales a veces surgen poemas, otras veces obras gráficas o pictóricas, e incluso de diseño o artesanía artística; de vez en cuando toman la forma de gritos convertidos en canciones. El imperativo (para mí) es no sucumbir al proceso de deshumanización, y por lo consiguiente, a la globalización de las mentes, perpetuada disimuladamente por quienes ostentan el poder.

After more than 20 years of experience, I have cultivated my own style inspired by the history of photography, painting, and sculpture. Each image I capture is a piece that fuses technique, sensitivity, and art. My goal is to provoke sensations, awaken memories, and bring to life moments that often go unnoticed.

I was born in Salford, near Manchester in the UK in 1953 and attended Salford Art College for several years before following a career in graphic design with advertising agencies and design studios in the Manchester area before creating my own design studios. When we built a house near Canillas de Albaida, a studio and gallery below the pool were incorporated into the plans and this is where I now produce and exhibit my paintings and photographs.

Elke Lange (Elange Art)

When painter Elke Lange decided to settle permanently in Andalusia in the late 1980s, the region was not yet a member of the EU and still very much rooted in its traditions. However, this was soon to change, not least due to the growing popularity of tourism. She was looking for a place where she could live peacefully and at the same time pursue her passion: languages. Being a translator and interpreter was her second love – acting as a link between people of different nationalities. At that time, there were not many translators in the area, so there was no shortage of work. When she was finally able to retire from professional life after many years, she devoted herself entirely to her first love: painting and writing. ‘Sometimes we lack the words to describe what moves us. Then it is painting or music that helps us to express our feelings and thoughts.’ An enthusiastic painter since childhood (thanks to the influence of her father and six years of motivating art lessons with her teacher, the German painter ALFRED BIRNSCHEIN), in 2012 she discovered a new form of expressing her visions: digital painting. For her, it is a medium with unlimited possibilities. ‘It was a long journey to master this new medium. But it was and remains exciting” says the artist with a smile. Elke Lange maintains pages in international digital galleries. Some of her works have been published in non-European book editions.
Cuando la pintora Elke Lange decidió a finales de los ańos 80 vivir para siempre en Andalucía, el país aún no era miembro de la UE y seguía muy arraigado en sus tradiciones. Pero eso pronto cambiaría, sobre todo debido al auge del turismo. Buscaba un lugar donde poder vivir tranquilamente y, al mismo tiempo, dedicarse a su “segundo amor”: los idiomas. Ser traductora e intérprete era su pasión: actuar como enlace entre personas de diferentes nacionalidades. En aquella época aún no había muchos traductores en la zona, por lo que no le faltaba trabajo. Cuando, tras muchos ańos, por fin pudo retirarse de la vida profesional, se dedicó por completo a su primer amor: la pintura y la escritura. «A veces nos faltan las palabras para describir lo que nos conmueve. Entonces son la pintura o la música las que nos ayudan a expresar nuestros pensamientos y sentimientos». Pintora entusiasta desde su infancia (gracias a la influencia de su padre y a seis ańos de motivadoras clases de arte con su profesor, el pintor alemán ALFRED BIRNSCHEIN), en 2012 descubrió una nueva forma de expresar sus visiones: la pintura digital. Para ella, un medio con posibilidades ilimitadas. «Ha sido un largo camino dominar este nuevo medio. Pero ha sido y sigue siendo emocionante», dice la artista con una sonrisa. Elke Lange tiene páginas en galerías digitales internacionales. Algunas de sus obras se han publicado en ediciones de libros fuera de Europa.

I’m a Japanese visual artist. (I’ve worked in the Japanese advertising and television industry for 25 years and as a university professor for 15 years. I specialize in visual design and information graphics. I’ve been involved in digital art since the 1980s, creating titles for films and television programs. I’m currently focusing on art.) AI is beginning to permeate the art world. Feeling uneasy about the future of AI, I began my journey to explore new ways of expression, starting with drawing basic pictures with my own hands.

I am French and have been living in Spain since 2000, and I started photography with my mother’s camera. Living in the equestrian world, it was obvious to have horses as my main source of inspiration. In 2002, I was the official photographer for the World Equestrian Games in Jerez de la Frontera and I started to collaborate with several magazines and equestrian associations. At the same time, I started to cover shows and concerts, I like to work with special light conditions. Later, I opened a studio for pets, in order to immortalize the relationship that can exist between a person and his pet, so that it remains in the memory. Finally, I opened my horizon and now I study any project in a totally personalized way. This year I have created a ‘focus collection’ with 365 photos with a story.
Soy francesa, residente en España desde el año 2000 y empecé a fotografiar usando la cámara de mi madre. Al vivir en el mundo ecuestre, era obvio que los caballos se hubieran convertido en mi principal fuente de inspiración. En el 2002, fui fotógrafa oficial para los Juegos Ecuestres Mundiales en Jerez de la Frontera y empecé a colaborar con varias revistas y asociaciones ecuestres. Al mismo tiempo comencé a cubrir los espectáculos y conciertos, pues me gusta trabajar con condiciones de luz especiales. Más tarde, creé un estudio para mascotas, con el fin de inmortalizar la relación que puede existir entre una persona y su mascota, para no dejar que desaparezca de la memoria. Por fin, abrí mi horizonte y ahora estudio cualquier proyecto de manera totalmente personalizada. Este año he creado una “focus collection” con 365 fotos con historia.

We are Hubertine Hermus and Conne Minnaert and we come from the Netherlands. We have lived in Spain for 8 years now. Formerly in Cortes de la Frontera. Now 6 years in Cómpeta. Hubertine is an amateur visual artist. In the Netherlands she has followed various education and courses at art academies and the photo vocational school. Now she takes classes in the art class Cómpeta. She works on canvas and paper with acrylic paint and oil paint. Conne is self-taught. He observes Hubertine’s tricks and creates according to his own insight. The work we present for the ArtWalk consists of painted and processed palm shields. Under the motto “From waste to imagination” we collect waste from palm trees and cactus leaves. We give these a new purpose by processing and painting them. We mainly use water-based acrylic paint for this purpose. Our art is purely emotional and expresses our feelings in the exact moment of creation. The works presented can fit both indoors and outdoors: at home, on the patio, garden or otherwise.
Somos Hubertine Hermus y Conne Minnaert de los Países Bajos. Llevamos vivendo en España 8 años: primero en Cortes de la Frontera y ahora desde hace 6 años en Cómpeta. Hubertine es una artista visual aficionada. En los Países Bajos siguió varios estudios y cursos en academias de arte y fotografía, así como en la escuela vocacional de fotografía. Ahora toma clases en la Art Class Cómpeta. Se ocupa de pintar cuadros sobre lienzo y papel con pinturas acrílicas y al óleo. Conne es autodidacta. Observa cómo lo hace Hubertine y después crea las obras siguiendo su propia intuición. Nuestras obras que presentamos en ArtWalk son escudos de palma pintados y procesados. Bajo el lema “Del residuo a la imaginación” recogemos residuos de palmeras y hojas de cactus. Procesando y pintándolos les damos una vida nueva. Para eso utilizamos sobre todo las pinturas acrílicas a base de agua. Nuestro arte es puramente emocional y expresa nuestros sentimientos en el momento exacto de la creación. Las obras presentadas quedan bien tanto en interior como en exterior: en casa, en patio, en jardín o cualquier otro lugar. Todas nuestras obras han sido impregnadas y son resistentes al sol y al agua, tienen diferentes tamaños y formas. Algunas han sido un poco elaboradas, pero siempre tratamos de mantenerlas en la forma más natural posible.
Gerardo Garcia Avila “Caco”

Known locally as Caco, he is an artist from Cómpeta who in his workshop has been for decades secretly creating Pollock-style paintings, very few of which have been seen until now. Each of his various works, be it oil and acrylic on canvas, woodblock or panel, is infused with vivid colors used thematically to create a diverse vision of the countryside and the towns in the area. In a part of the world so rich in warmth and colour, what would be a better way to express his vision than the use of shapes and colours? It seems that Gerardo creates his abstract paintings almost in a representative way. Either you choose a huge and spectacular painting on canvas or a small piece of wood infused with nails and thick brush strokes of color, you will always feel its vibrations and never stop discovering the originality of his work.
Conocido localmente como Caco, es competeño y por décadas ha estado creando silenciosamente en su taller pinturas al estilo Pollock, muy pocas de ellas han sido vistas hasta ahora. Cada una de sus variadas piezas, óleos y acrílicos presentados sobre lienzos, bloques de madera o paneles, están infundidas de vivos colores usados temáticamente para crear una visión diferenciada del campo y de los pueblos del área. En una parte del mundo tan rica en calor y color, ¿qué mejor manera de expresar su visión que el uso de formas y colores? Parece que Gerardo crea sus pinturas abstractas casi de forma representativa. O eliges un lienzo enorme y espectacular o una pequeña pieza de madera infundida con clavos y gruesas pinceladas de color, nunca te cansarás de sentir sus vibraciones y de percibir la originalidad de su trabajo.

Małgorzata Wakuluk – choreographer by education, art manager by profession, and photographer by passion. Originally from Poland, she now lives in Spain. She has been photographing since 2016, focusing on emotions and human stories at the heart of her work. She is particularly drawn to issues of social inequality, currently working on a long-term documentary project about the Untouchables in India. In parallel, she develops her personal cycle “Close Your Eyes” – a photographic narrative balancing on the edge of art, theatre, and creation. For her, photography is both a tool of discovery and storytelling. She also leads photo workshops, expeditions in Poland, India, and Spain.
Linda Decker

Linda Decker is an award-winning travel writer whose memoir ‘Bombs and Bougainvillea’ was awarded first place for a nonfiction book by the Scottish Association of Writers. The book went on to become an Amazon bestseller on publication. Linda enjoyed a career in law in the UK before moving overseas with her family. While living in Jordan, she wrote for a general interest magazine. She also gained a UK diploma in Journalism by distance learning while living in Jerusalem. Linda now lives in Sayalonga and has collaborated with British watercolourist painter Peter Lawrence on a beautiful coffee table book, ‘Impressions of Andalucia’. The book showcases over 80 new paintings, and many will be exhibited at the ArtWalk. Peter’s work is collected internationally.

Mientras vivía en Jordania, escribía para una revista de interés general. Además, mientras en Jerusalén, obtuvo un diploma británico en periodismo a distancia. Linda vive ahora en Sayalonga y ha colaborado con el pintor acuarelista británico Peter Lawrence en un precioso libro de gran formato “Impressions of Andalucia”. Papel y Mezcla. Why? It all started on a hot summer day in the Andalusian countryside, known as the campo. A newfound passion. Collages. The old way. A pair of scissors, some glue and a few magazines. Cut, tear, stick, layer, undo, redo, rip out, fold,…the motions are slow and therapeutic. The name “Papel y Mezcla” sums it all pretty well. You start with a simple sheet of paper and you mix whatever your heart desires. I explore abstraction through minimalism, seeking to evoke emotion with few elements. Self-taught and experimental, I wander in wonder. The freedom is endless. It’s magic. Protect your magic by all means.
Papel y Mezcla. ¿Por qué? Todo empezó en un caluroso día de verano en el campo andaluz. Una nueva pasión. Collages. A la antigua usanza. Tijeras, pegamento y unas cuantas revistas. Cortar, rasgar, pegar, superponer, deshacer, rehacer, arrancar, doblar… los movimientos son lentos y terapéuticos. El nombre “Papel y Mezcla” lo resume todo perfectamente. Empiezas con una simple hoja de papel y mezclas lo que te apetezca. Exploro la abstracción a través del minimalismo, intentando provocar emoción mientras se utilizan pocos recursos. SHYSHKA (szyszka in Polish, meaning pinecone\pińa) was born in 2015 in Warsaw, Poland out of love for all things beautiful: unique, handmade ceramics and porcelain, designer jewellery, art of all kinds, books and poetry which have travelled all the way down to Andalusia and now can be seen in my little gallery in La Muela near Periana. All artists I’m working with have been my friends for a long time, we are connected and we share the same sensitivity and vision of the art. I believe that it is important to have beautiful things around us as they can make our life more pleasant, enjoyable and – beautiful. I also believe that every thing has a story to tell. Welcome to SHYSHKA – the world of Polish art under the Andalusian sky.
El proyecto SHYSHKA (szyszka en polaco, lo que quiere decir pinecone/ pińa) nació en 2015 en Varsovia, Polonia, por amor a todas las cosas bellas: las manufacturas de cerámica y porcelana únicas, las joyas, las piezas de arte de diferentes tipos, los libros y poesía los cuales han viajado hasta Andalucía y ahora se pueden ver en mi pequeńa galería de La Muela, cerca de Periana. Todos los artistas con los que trabajo en colaboración son mis amigos desde hace mucho tiempo, estamos conectados y compartimos la misma sensibilidad y la misma visión del arte. Creo que es importante estar rodeado por cosas bellas, ya que pueden hacer nuestra vida más agradable, más placentera y por fin – más bella. También creo que cada cosa tiene una historia que contar… Bienvenidos a SHYSHKA – el mundo del arte polaco bajo el cielo andaluz.
